Celebrating and Honoring 2020 Graduates
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Stanford Department of Classics will be unable to celebrate our graduates with traditional Commencement exercises. Naturally, our pride in their achievement is not diminished; if anything, we celebrate their perseverance through the challenging circumstances imposed by COVID-19.
To commemorate the joyful day of Commencement, Stanford will hold a virtual Celebration of 2020 Graduates on June 14. As President Tessier-Lavigne notes, this event "will not replicate or replace a traditional Commencement ceremony," but the university invites graduates to contribute photos, videos, or stories to share with their classmates. Visit this website for more information about the Celebration of 2020 Graduates and to make your contributions.
