Please join us for a Classics Graduate Colloquium on “Personal Research Practices”:Efficient academic research into classical antiquity requires managing and caching a diverse array of influences, from published footnotes and live presentations to casual conversations and stray thoughts.Panelists Hans Bork (Assistant Professor of Classics), Sarah Derbew (Assistant Professor of Classics), and Ian Morris (Jean and Rebecca Willard Professor of Classics) join us to discuss their specific strategies for productively curating their research in a variety of academic contexts, down to the minutiae of note-taking, citation collection, and project management. They will answer such questions as: When you hear something useful at a conference, how do you record it for the long-term?  When you are reading an article and notice something that triggers a new project idea, what do you do?  How do you organize and develop multiple (and possibly overlapping) long-term research projects at once?  Do you use notebooks, file folders, word processors, and/or citation software? The colloquium is open to all Classics undergraduates, graduates, and faculty.
