American Historical Review Forum focuses on Grand Tour Project

The April 2017 issue of the American Historical Review published a forum on historical research in the digital era, featuring an article on architects on the Grand Tour in eighteenth—century Italy by Giovanna Ceserani, Giorgio Caviglia, Thea De Armond, Sarah Murray and Molly Taylor-Poleskey. There is also a general introduction to the Mapping Republic of Letters Project by Giovanna Ceserani and her collaborators and a thoughtful response by Jason Kelly on the Grand Tour Project and its data and visualizations, which are public on this website: http://republicofletters.stanford.edu/publications/grandtour/. You can read the entire forum and Jason Kelly’s response in the journal itself: https://academic.oup.com/ahr/article-abstract/122/2/451/3096210/Reading-the-Grand-Tour-at-a-Distance-Archives-and?redirectedFrom=fulltext.
