Hans is interested in ancient literature and philosophy, the history and philosophy of science, and anthropology. His Master's thesis at the University of Oxford examined the character and design of the Muses in Homer and Hesiod. He completed his PhD in Autumn Quarter 2014 and now teaches at Carleton College. Hans grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and he has lived and worked in Kosice, Slovakia and Tallahassee, Florida. He enjoys being outside.
