Dr. Kelly received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2007. His dissertation on Roman elegiac poetry was supervised by Alessandro Barchiesi, Susanna Braund, and Susan Stephens. He is currently finishing a monograph on the concept of cultus in the elegies of Tibullus.  Corby was a visiting professor and a Postdoctoral Mellon fellow at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. As a scholar of the literature of the late Republican and Augustan periods, he focuses on the many ways in which Latin poets read and responded to one another’s work.  He is currently a visiting Assistant Professor & Classics Undergraduate Advisor at the Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX
