MSt in Greek and Latin Languages and Literature from the University of Oxford

Uwa is a PhD student on the Languages and Literature track. Her primary research areas include the fable and its reception, and the intersections of poetry and philosophy in Greek and Roman literature. Her undergraduate thesis examined the roles of Aesopic fable and mime (specifically, the sententiae of mimographer Publilius Syrus) in Greco-Roman intellectual culture. In addition, she maintains an interest in ancient literary representations of enslavement, the philosophical satires of Lucian of Samosata, classical reception in Africa and the African diaspora, and, what she calls, “the philosophy of non-philosophers.
