Students will continue their exploration of Greek tragedy in the Argolid by visiting the archaeological sites of Mycenae, Tiryns, Argos, Epidauros, Nemea, Isthmia and Corinth. In addition to on-site lectures, museum visits, archaeological hikes, and screenings of contemporary tragic performances, students will workshop choruses with students from the University of Peloponnese.

Eligibility: Must be a matriculated Stanford undergraduate enrolled in CLASSICS 150: Majors Seminar (WIM) in Winter Quarter 2017-18. We will be able to accommodate up to 12 students.
Program costs: There is a $350 program fee per student which goes towards the overall cost of the trip. The department will cover roundtrip airfare (SFO - ATH), lodging, in-country ground transportation, meals, and site/visit fees. Fee waivers available for students with demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Students interested in requesting a fee waiver should check the "Fee Waiver" box in the program application.

Is there a language requirement?
No. All instruction, tours and activities will be in English.
I'm a sophomore; can I still apply?
Of course! Any Stanford undergraduate student who is enrolled in CLASSICS 150 in Winter Quarter 2017-18 can apply.
The trip conflicts with one of my final exams; can I still go?
It is your responsibility to consult with your instructors prior to the start of Winter Quarter to seek alternative arrangements. Please note that instructors are not obliged to re-arrange a final exam for an individual student.
I'm an international student. Can I still participate?
International students must check with Bechtel International Center whether or not their immigration status will allow them to participate in this program.
Are there fee waivers for the Program Fee?
Yes. Fee waivers are available for eligible students as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
How do I pay the Program Fee?
The Program Fee will appear on your student bill by the end of January. Please pay using the online e-pay system.
