Doctoral Program

The department offers all admitted students a comprehensive funding package covering tuition, stipend, research support, and teaching. Our goal is to support students as fully as possible in their development as both scholars and teachers. Generous summer and conference travel funds are also available. The program has an excellent placement record.

Masters Program

Masters degrees are only open to Stanford students. Stanford students are welcome to apply for either the co-terminal masters program (only open to current Stanford undergraduates) or the M.A. degree programs (applicants must already be matriculated in another Stanford graduate degree program). Interested students should contact the department directly. This program is ideal for students who are contemplating further study of Classics at the graduate level. Unfortunately, the department has no available funding for M.A. scholars.
