Winter and Spring PhD Defenses: Cazzadori, Duray, Lee, Melzer

We are happy to report that Leonardo Cazzadori , Anne DurayEunsoo Lee and Alyson Melzer successfully passed their PhD defenses in Winter and Spring quarters.

Leo is on the Language and Literature track.  His dissertation, The Poet’s Display: The Genre of Hellenistic Expository Poetry, was co-advised by Andrea Nightingale and Reviel Netz, with Grant Parker and Natasha Peponi serving as committee members. Leo succesfully defended on June 1st, 2020. 

Anne is on the Classical Archeology track. Her dissertation, "The Idea of Greek (Pre)history: Archaeological Knowledge Production and the Making of ‘Early Greece,’ c. 1950-1980”, was advised by Michael Shanks with Giovanna Ceserani, Ian Hodder, Ian Morris and Donald Haggis servings as committee members. Anne succesfully defended on March 6th, 2020. 
 

Eunsoo is on the Ancient History track.  His dissertation, "Visual Agency in Euclid’s Elements: A Study of the Transmission of Visual Knowledge", was advised by Reviel Netz, with Susan Stephens, Paula Findlen and Ken Saito serving as committee members. Eunsoo succesfully defended on June 3rd, 2020. 

Alyson is on the Language and Literature track. Her dissertation, "The Somatics of Style: Performance, Poetics, and the Body in Greek Literary Criticism" was advised by Anastasia-Erasmia Peponi, with Andrea Nightingale, Richard Martin and Grant Parker serving as committee members. Alyson succesfully defended on January 31st, 2020.
